By 2000, the Oxley Creek festival had grown from a one-day celebration to one spanning 16 days which included 21 events. Of the many highlights two main cultural events a lantern-lit string quartet concert at Benarrawa Park and the closing-event performance, "Talking To Water".
The closing event
The play sets out to tell the audience about the efforts of members of local Bushcare groups to protect green areas in Oxley Creek catchment against the ever-increasing threat of development. Human ignorance rears its ugly head and our heroes must face a final show down, but of course they live to fight another day.
